2023 μNET Strasbourg meeting

On June 23, 2023, a one-day seminar will be held with Dr. Thomas Kehl-Fie (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA) in the IBMC seminar room. The main objective of his research is to understand how the opportunistic pathogen Staphylococcus aureus obtains and copes with the absence of essential inorganic nutrients, such as metals, during infection.

This plenary lecture will be followed by short presentations by members of µNET Strasbourg, a network of recently recruited researchers in Microbiology. This network, still in its infancy, was born in Marseille and has since been emulated in several major cities, including Strasbourg, Lyon and Toulouse. The idea of the network is to help new microbiologists get their bearings, support each other at the start of their careers, encourage scientific and practical exchanges and facilitate the integration of new researchers into the Strasbourg and national landscape.
