Students and researchers from ITI IMCBio+ will be pleased to meet you at the Science Village at the Palais Universitaire from 14 to 16 October on the stands "Amazing biology: from biomolecules to living beings" and "Plants at all scales".

At the "Amazing biology: from biomolecules to living beings" stand, we will talk to you about covid-19 (What is an antibody? Antibodies, friends or enemies? antigen/antibody tests, sheets, etc.), mosquitoes (discover the development stages of mosquitoes and flies, recognise male/female, mistakes not to make in the garden, etc.), and explore biomolecules on a 3D screen. And let's not forget the virtual reality masks that are back and where you can dive into the heart of the coronavirus.

And for the "Plants at all scales" stand, through 6 fun and interactive workshops, come and discover and explore the fascinating world of plants at various scales of observation.

For more details, don't hesitate to visit the Fête de la Science website!

news-14402 Mon, 23 May 2022 08:00:00 +0200 UNIVERSITY OF STRASBOURG, IMCBio graduate school International PhD call 2022 https://imcbioplus.unistra.fr/en/actualites/news/university-of-strasbourg-imcbio-graduate-school-international-phd-call-2022 We are most pleased to announce the opening of the 2nd PhD call 2022 of the Integrative Molecular and Cellular Biology (IMCBio) International graduate school. The IMCBio graduate school from the University of Strasbourg builds on the strong research developed in four Laboratories of Excellence (LabEx): NetRNA (Networks of regulatory RNAs), INRT (Integrative biology: Nuclear dynamics, Regenerative and Translational medicine), MitoCross (Mitochondria-nucleus Cross-talk) and HepSYS (Functional genomics of viral hepatitis and liver disease), which covers all areas of molecular and cellular biology at the levels of molecular factors, genes, cells and organisms from model systems to diseases. The combination of the three LabEx provides a unique opportunity to get a broad overview of every aspect of gene regulation covering nuclear organization, epigenetics, transcriptional, translational, post-transcriptional and post-translational events as well as crosstalks between the nucleus, cytoplasm and organelles in eukaryotes and cell-to-cell communication.

The complementarities and synergies between the LabEx researchers constitute an attractive training community for the future IMCBio PhD students. Trainees also benefit from outstanding technology infrastructures and platforms to develop high-level research projects in a stimulating and interdisciplinary environment.

If you are a highly motivated candidate of academic excellence and if you want to start an innovative research project in 2022, then click down below to candidate and join the IMCBio graduate school! (from May 23rd to June 24th 2022).

The StrasRNA Salon is back at the IBMP seminar room this year. In association with the RNA Society, a workshop is organized on May 18th to allow PhD students to present their work to other researchers from IBMP, IBMC and GMGM institutes. The topic is the RNA and all of its features and functions in cells. This year, the plenary conference is given by Ciarán Condon from IBPC in Paris. During the day, PhD students will present their project through 6 « short talks ». A poster session will be organized too.

Everybody is welcome (CR, DR, postdoc, engineer, master students, PhD students…).

We hope to see you on May 18th at the IBMP.

Best regards,

news-10723 Mon, 21 Mar 2022 09:00:00 +0100 Symposium on recent developments in cellular electron microscopy https://imcbioplus.unistra.fr/en/actualites/news/symposium-sur-les-developpements-recents-en-microscopie-electronique-cellulaire Come and discover the latest developments in cell electron microscopy! The thematic institute of molecular and structural basis of life sciences of the French National Alliance for Life Sciences and Health (Aviesan) has identified cellular (cryo) electron microscopy as a priority area to be developed in the future. To better understand the functional behaviour of living organism, it becomes increasingly important to describe its structural organization from atomic scales to integrated, multi-component biological systems. Recent developments in imaging have drastically transformed our perception of the molecular organization and of the dynamic interactions of molecules in cellular systems.

We aim at organizing a 2-days meeting entitled “Symposium on recent developments in cellular electron microscopy”, and dedicated to the latest progresses in the field of cellular electron microscopy at the interface with fluorescent microscopy and structural biology. The meeting is built around 4 scientific sessions, namely volumetric imaging, cryo-electron tomography, correlative light and electron microscopy, and new technological developments. The meeting is for molecular and cellular biologists to have an overview of the latest results and concepts that develop at this interface.

Due to the sanitary situation, vaccination pass and face masks are mandatory to attend the meeting.

Program - Registration
